This summer, MMR will be giving one lucky person the adventure of a lifetime. We will be accepting applications for a summer intern from January 5th through April 12th. The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on experience with marine life, as well as experience in writing research papers. We are looking for a person interested in researching sharks in their natural habit and collecting data through still photos and videos. This person must be willing to partake in all daily tasks aboard the MMR ship, from cleaning the deck to getting into the water to collect data. Knowledge of sign-language is a plus as we often use it to communicate with each other when underwater.
The internship will run from June 5th through August 28th and will begin at our home base in Hawaii. From there, we will travel aboard our vessel, Galeos, to the waters of False Bay, Africa. We will spend the majority of the summer here before returning to Hawaii to dock and submit our findings.
All studies conducted by MMR are done so in the safest way possible for both the crew and the marine life. Every exercise is planned out in advance with each crew member firmly aware of what his/her duty is for each task. No crew member is ever assigned a task beyond their comfort level or expertise.

Please be sure to include all items requested at the bottom of the application form. If you have any questions, please contact us at masenmarine@gmail.com. An MMR team member will respond as quickly as possible.
