Masen
Edward Masen: A graduate of Hawai'i Pacific University, Edward Masen holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology with a minor in mechanical engineering. He has been an avid photographer for many years and has used his engineering knowledge to adjust his cameras for shark research use, giving the world some of the most spectacular high-speed shots of these animals in their natural habitat.
Mr. Masen spent three months at the Farallon Islands marine sanctuary off the coast of San Francisco, “cutting his teeth” on shark research. He started Masen Marine Research in early 2004 with the help of his family and friends. In addition to being president of the company, he heads up the research team aboard the Galeos, collecting most of the underwater data himself.
