While many parts of BTS are fictitious, like The Submarine vessel and the Colossus Crew, much of the information we present is 100% true. Sharks truly are in danger of becoming extinct all over the world. They are being slaughtered at ridiculous rates and their plummeting numbers are putting the entire balance of the ocean at risk.

Another true item is the existence of a huge research vessel for attracting, catching, tagging, and bio-sampling sharks. The OCEARCH is a 126' vessel with a custom lift and research platform--an at-sea laboratory for leading researchers and institutions. The work performed aboard this amazing ship provides groundbreaking data on shark biology, health, and migration. The information gathered is used to help support conservation efforts the world over.
